Put a bid to host the winter Olympics

Why couldn't the UK not host the winter Olympics? I think Scotland would do a fantastic job of hosting many of the events, they will need to build a lot of the facilities and renovate existing ones but how many of the facilities were in place before London, or any Olympics for that matter? Everything pretty much is built from scratch. Some facilities are in place, but most are purpose built. The Basics are already there. Some great ski areas are already in place, which could be built on and improved with the success the games bring. A lot of things will need to be built, like the ski jump, ice skating rinks, and the athlete's village, apart from that most things can easily be put into place. The snow sports can be placed on the various mountains like Cairngorm, Glencoe, Nevis range and Glenshee. Skiing in the UK needs a boost and this is what the games will bring and after the games had finished, there would be a group of world-class resorts with great facilities for the public to benefit from. More people will take up the sport because of this. The weather is one of the biggest issues, but that can be aided with snow machines. I heard of a new snow machine which "can make snow regardless of air temperature, operating at up to 32°C" to add to this, There is lots of water up there to use to help with the snow building issue. Another plus is that there are great transport links already in place. Roads are pretty good heading North, plus lots of Airports to fly into from Inverness, Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow. There are also very good rail links from the South meaning access would be pretty straight forward. Who wouldn't want the winter Olympics in Scotland? with some of the most beautiful scenery in the World. I think it would be worthwhile at least investigating the possibility of the Games in Scotland.
